Max's Restaurant at Red Hill Estate has been one of my favourite venues for years. One of my very first weddings was there way back in 2012 so I have very fond memories. Until Laura & Ben's wedding, Mother Nature hadn't been very kind to me. My last one for Imogen & Rhys was rained out and had to be indoors and so even with a bit of wind, this was the perfect day to sink my teeth in and create some great images.
Red Hill Estate sits on the western side overlooking Western Port with a view to French Island and Phillip Island which means there's no major issue with sun and you get a beautiful afternoon, slightly shaded which is perfect on a hot summers day.
Quite often when I rock up to the getting ready locations, it's pure chaos with people chatting and running about doing last minute things but this was the polar opposite. Calm, quiet and reserved.
That calm energy built throughout the day though and by the end of the night, the dance floor was pumping! Like all weddings, they go too fast and we were out the door lining up a sparkler exit.
