Projekt 3488 Warburton - Wedding Photos Cathy & Matt

Matt Elliott • Jul 17, 2021

Cathy & Matt ditched a whole bunch of traditions and it worked flawlessly

Cathy & Matt had a very cool approach to their wedding at Projekt 3488 in Warburton which was simply to spend all their time with their guests. Between us, we worked out a plan to achieve that which, on top of getting ready together, was to have a first look and get all of their photos done prior of their ceremony.

They both got ready at a quiet Japanese-inspired space 3 minutes from Warburton Village which was a joy to photograph in.

I’d wanted to photograph a couple at the Redwood Forest for ages and this was my chance so I was pretty excited. It didn’t disappoint either and we managed to score a perfect day right on the end of Autumn.

Onto the venue and Cathy & Matt were both there to greet their guests as they arrived. I was smiling behind the camera as I watched the surprise on their faces. It’s such a great way to kick off the ceremony.

Their ceremony was held outside and upstairs on the balcony. Their reception was downstairs where there are two long wooden tables. These are later moved to the side using amazing engineering. This creates a dance floor ready to pump.

Project 3488 was originally a Masonic Hall which Mark Fenech has lovingly turned into a truly unique Yarra Valley wedding venue. HIs creativity shines through in every detail inside this space. It was a privilege to take photos there and I left inspired to work on my own space at home.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through this wedding and I hope to get back there soon for another wedding.
