We've had a brutal bushfire season across our country this year so it was a huge relief to have a full day of rain. For most couples, this is a disaster on their wedding day but not for Imogen and Rhys; they knew this was a great day for so many people that have been affected. If I'm being honest, I was really looking forward to an outdoor wedding at
Red Hill Estate
because I hadn't been up there for almost 4 years. Thankfully I've got another one booked in for 2020.
We started the day on a beautiful property in Red Hill with the boys getting ready. Rhys is originally from New Zealand and so a lot of his family and friends made the trip over. Imogen and her bridesmaids went through their preparations at her beautiful family home in Dromana. We then had their first look at the Pines in Shoreham before heading to Red Hill Estate for their ceremony in the Cellar Door.
We had some amazing suppliers contribute to their day and I always love hearing little stories where money has been saved. When I caught up with them a couple of weeks before their day, I asked where Imogen got her dress. With a shy grin, she said "Ebay, for less than half the retail price." "Fantastic" I said.

This was also the first Vegan wedding that I have covered so I was really looking forward to tasting the food.
Max's Restaurant
did an amazing job. Their canapé's, entree and mains surprised everyone and looked fantastic all plated up. Check it out below.
I'd always wanted to get a couple outside on a rainy day at night too. I've had an image in my head of what I wanted to create and so this was the perfect night to give it a try. I got all set up for the shot, roped in a couple of guests to be my guinea pigs and before you knew it I had a queue of guests requesting a shot of their own. I finally got Imogen and Rhys in front of the camera to create an image I've wanted to do for years.
I’ve found that the majority of men aren’t exactly looking forward to being in front of the camera on their wedding day. One of the guests at a wedding I shot last night asked if she could take a photo of me for the couple to remember me by. I wanted to run a mile. So, I get it, I’m not a fan either. I promise you though, we’ll get a few cool portraits and I’ll leave you alone to enjoy your day. Nothing cheesy or cliche, just something cool for the next generation to look back on
