Finding my niche as a photographer & filmmaker

Hi, I’m Matt and I’m in the wedding industry because I believe love is the answer. I’m also here to help couples navigate what can be an overwhelming experience of being in front of a camera. 

Here’s a photo and a little story about me. 

I don’t enjoy being in front of the camera. That’s why you won’t find me dancing on reels. When I was a kid, I refused to be in photos. Now that I have kids, I regret it. 

Being introverted, similar types of couples have gravitated towards my style of photography. I’ve worked on ways to help quieter couples get through a daunting process on a wedding day. 

My biggest tip for anyone in front of a camera is that what we are creating is bigger than ourselves. Our photos and films are not just for us to revisit our day on big anniversaries, they are for generations down the line that will view these memories in awe when we are long gone. 

When we have this in mind during a photoshoot, it creates so much more meaning. 

This photo was taken by my 8-year-old son today. He had no idea how hard this was for me but hopefully one day it’ll mean something to him.
