First off, all Wedding Photographers are different. This post is to show what work I generally carry out during the editing process. It's just one image of course and each image throughout a wedding will require different things.
For example, in some images, there's an extensive amount of work required such as removing distractions from the background like telegraph poles. Other images are straight forward and only need some minor touch ups.
To kick things off after your wedding, I apply a set of adjustments to all images which will give your photos a consistent look. This provides me with a starting point and I then carry out further adjustments as I progress through the day.
As it gets later in the day, the colour in the sky obviously changes and my editing follows that path as we go from getting ready in the morning to the reception either indoors or outside after dark.
I've grabbed the above image to demonstrate a few things. The balance of colours as well as the removal of distracting elements such as the drain at Callum's feet.
With this wedding in particular, with Lyndsay's green dress, I desaturated the natural greens in the leaves so that he dress didn't get too lost in amongst the nature.
My philosophy with editing your wedding photos is to keep it simple and consistent while maintaining skin tones and the look and feel that I've become known for as a wedding photographer.
