Bec & Tom getting hitched at The Old Church Red Hill & The Epicurean on the Mornington Peninsula
Saturday's wedding at the Old Church Red Hill was a reminder of how special these big days are. I discovered that for both Bec and Tom’s parents, this was the first wedding in their families. None of their other children had been married before.
Having a front row seat and witnessing the joy for both families was a reminder that even though I’ve been to many, this is pretty special to them and all my weddings need to be treated as such.
There was a moment where Bec sat and looked out the window and a butterfly landed on the outside of the glass. It paused long enough for me to ask Bec if that might be someone that has come to visit and get a glance at her all dressed up, looking beautiful on her wedding day.
It took a moment for that message to sink in but as she understood what I was asking, Bec recognised the significance and the butterfly took off into the wind. No doubt it was leaving itself time to fly to the ceremony to watch on from above.
Our ancestors are still around, we just have to look for them.
