James' Marriage Proposal in Daylesford

Some good news amongst some current doom and gloom

Proposal in Daylesford
James hit me up about a month ago with a plan to propose to his girlfriend on a weekend away in Daylesford. I was a yes before he even finished talking. It's a bad habit of mine to jump in while people are talking. I have a child-like level of excitement that uncontrollably bursts out sometimes. My eternal payback is that one of my children has ADHD :)

The plan was for me to hide out in the accommodation that was all dressed up by friends of theirs. The night before, James sends me a message and asks if I can press play on the music so that it's playing when they walk in. Sounds easy but I've never been so nervous! Here I am, in a beautifully restored church in Yandoit which is just north of Daylesford and I'm waiting for them to arrive. I had a bluetooth speaker to manage and my fear was that it would lose it's pairing or would power itself down. I also wanted to make sure that I couldn't be seen as they pulled up.

They pulled up outside so I hit play on the song. It seemed like forever before I heard a car door open! I had to start the song again 3 times before they finally came through the front door! I heard Renaissa say, "I think there's someone here here". I almost laughed but I somehow managed to contain myself.

The song played and I was able to spy around a corner as James spoke quietly. As I knelt down, I aimed and fired off one shot as she said yes. They both then noticed me and we all had a good giggle at what we were all involved in.

Being my first proposal, I learned a lot and I hope to be part of another beautiful moment like this again in the future.

If you love this restored church as much I did, you can check it here:
