Baxter Barn - Mornington Peninsula Rustic Weddings

Jemma & Isaac had their winter wedding at the amazing Baxter Barn on the Mornington Peninsula. It's a must see wedding venue if you're looking for a rustic theme not too far out of Melbourne.

When we caught up for their planning session, we went for a wander around the property and found a spot for their first look that I hadn't used before. I've worked at Baxter Barn quite a bit so it's great to try something new with each wedding to keep it unique.

Baxter Barn is only 40 minutes from Melbourne. The Barn itself sits on Sages Cottage which is a 34 acre heritage listed property built in the 1870's. Having so much land available, there are plenty of great opportunities for photos. There is a large open field, an intimate bush walk, farm animals to say hello to, open water to create reflections as well as the cottage for an amazing rustic backdrop. The Wisteria wrapping around one side of the cottage is always a great photo too.

Going Gourmet are the official caterers for Baxter Barn. They offer cocktail or sit down wedding receptions using some of their own organically grown produce. Their feasting or 'grazing' plates are massive! 

There's plenty of AirBnb's and apartments close to the venue to create beautiful getting ready photos. Mornington and Frankston are the closest hubs with Mt Martha also a great option because of the views out over Port Phillip Bay. .
