How to create good vibes and a great party at your Wedding

Recently I was chatting with a family friend about weddings and they asked at what point during the day that I know what sort of wedding reception it is going to be. Without hesitating I said "when they say their vows."

I explained that with heartfelt, personal vows, it draws the guests into the couple's world and sets the scene for the rest of the wedding. Just saying the legal part is fine and a lot of people are so nervous that's all they want to do. From my experience, giving your vows some planning in the lead up to your wedding will go a long way to making a better party where everyone is emotionally invested in both of you. It creates conversation, empathy and a closer sense of togetherness.

We all get nervous and we can all stumble our words at times but in my experience this only makes your vows more special. The people you invite to your wedding are there because they love you and they're not there to judge or ridicule you. Tears of happiness, nervous stutters or slips of the tongue are all normal but on a wedding day, they add so much because everyone there will have been in a similar situation and will have their own story to share with you.

This all leads me to your film. As your wedding videographer, I'm looking for a story to tell and the best films I've made have all come down to the vows and the emotion that comes from heartfelt, meaningful words.
