What I’ve been up to during the winter months

Matt Elliott • Aug 31, 2017

Hello all, I thought I’d write a bit of a personal blog today to tell you what I’ve been up to during this winter and also tell you what’s coming up for the summer.

My last wedding of the season was on May 6th and I went in for a knee operation a couple of weeks later. I really didn’t have long to unwind after another busy season on the peninsula. Recovery from the operation took 6 weeks and I’m now at about 8 weeks. The last two weeks have been about stepping up the exercise and building up the muscle ahead of next season. That’s been my goal since the operation along with losing some weight that I’ve gained since my first operation back in September. It’s only been the last two weeks that I’ve been allowed to start pushing myself a bit harder in almost 9 months.

So that’s basically all I’ve been up to really, apart from designing some albums and finishing off the season’s weddings. I’ve had to rest up quite a lot so it’s been pretty frustrating considering I’m usually hard at it for most of the year.

This coming season is going to be another busy one with most months fully booked out and our Second Shooter Jess Shepherd now taking on some of her own weddings through our business.

I’ve also bought an underwater housing for one of the cameras so expect to see some different work coming out in the warmer months. My plan is to take some landscapes from the water and also use some models for underwater photography down here on the beautiful coastline of the Mornington Peninsula.

I hope the winter months are treating you well and I look forward to next season rolling around!

If anyone needs help with their planning, feel free to email me or call, I’m always happy to help.

Thank you,

Matt.
