This trip was one of my favourite weddings of all time. I was briefed and shown iPhone photos but it wasn't until Mitch and I arrived at the old Flour Mill in Kyneton that it dawned on us that we had something really special in front of us to take photos of. Coming in the drive, the heritage-listed Degraves Mill stood in front of us and I honestly had a little heart flutter and a moment where I slowed my car to a crawl to absorb this building. The building is huge, imposing, made of Bluestone and Oregon, rectangular in shape. Built by William Degraves in 1857.
Getting inside and having to duck under doorways, navigate the dark rooms was a joy. I love architecture, watching too much Kevin McCloud and so this was a pure treat and a privilege to photograph.
While this was the most difficult lighting for a ceremony that I have encountered, the experience reminded me of why I chose this for a career.
I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I enjoyed creating them.
